| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The Basic Rain Diverter takes rain water from your gutter downspout and diverts it into rain barrels. While this is happening the Rain Diverter prevents algae build up, mosquitoe (and other bugs) infestation, debris from entering, and barrel overflow. These problems normally require constant maintenance without the RainReserve system. Gardeners use rain water instead of tap because rain water does not contain harmful chemicals, such as: fluoride and chlorine. In fact rainwater contains nutritious chemicals, such as Nitrogen, Nitrates, and CO2. This Basic Rain Diverter is designed to attach to barrels already converted into rain barrels and therefore does NOT include the parts necessary to inter-connect rain barrels/water tanks, and does NOT include parts such as: High Flow Spigot, Barrel Seals, Spigot Adapter, Teflon Tape, Hole Saw, and Garden Hose Adapter The Complete RainReserve System includes the these parts. The RainReserve Rain Diverter has the most capabilities and features, is the most efficient, and is the most eco-friendly on the market. Installation is quick and simple using the easy to read Installation Manual. Whether your desire is to water your lawn & garden, wash your car/boat/pets, save money on utilities, or Go Green; RainReserve is the answer.

| Customer Reviews: Best diverter I've seen yet March 30, 2010 Owen S. (Maryland, USA) 28 out of 28 found this review helpful
I've been using two of these units for a couple of months now. They replaced two Rain Saver diverters that basically fell apart after two years. I like that this system is made from sturdy plastic and large diameter hoses. I especially like the fact that the overflow output on the bottom is the same size as the input on the top. This prevents the problem I had with the Rain Saver models where the diverter would become a bottle neck during downpours and water would leak out the top of the diverter and run down the side of the house. Time will tell whether or not this new unit will hold up to the elements, but my initial impression is that it is better built than the Rain Savers I replaced. It doesn't feel cheap and flimsy.
Quality product, enables full use of rain barrel. May 9, 2010 scrapgames (USA) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I ordered this diverter to go with a rain barrel (Algreen 81111 Cascata Rain Water Collection and Storage System, 65 Gallons, Dark Brown). This particular rain barrel has a larger opening than the tubing from the diverter. However, we need the diverter to be able to properly handle winter weather in our area. We'll be able to simply disconnect the hose from the rain barrel in the winter instead of having to reset the downspout. I made a cap for the rain barrel opening and cut a hole in the cap just big enough for the diverter tubing. I'm using the rain barrel's overflow port instead of the diverter's design for backflowing water up the tube. You need a sealed rain barrel (like a 55 gal drum) to use the diverter to backfill to the downspout. I added a picture of my use of this diverter with the Algreen Cascata barrel. There are other diverters out there, but this one seems very solid and works excellent to get water to the barrel while leaving the downspout intact for winter use.
Would not use anything else! June 17, 2010 pdxrabbit (PORTLAND, OR, US) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I did a lot of research before purchasing this rain diverter for my rain barrels. It was our first attempt at collecting rain and I wanted everything to work right with no problems and that is what I got. They have worked like a charm and I don't have one ounce of regret for spending a little more for the RainReserve brand. It wasn't too difficult attaching them to our downspouts, just follow the well written instructions and you will be collecting rainwater before you know it. Now, if it would just dry out enough for me to need the water I have collected.

We recently purchased the Rain Reserve Guard for our rain barrel set up and it works wonderfully..no more gushing water racing into our flower beds because the rain gutter cannot keep up..it's been great.
